Having researched several wedding planners, we already had a good feeling about Gillian before we met her in Tuscany. Her Weddings in Tuscany website was simple and easy to navigate, and we received prompt, friendly emails when we made our initial enquiries. We met Gillian outside the walls of San Gimignano. and were instantly convinced that she would be the perfect planner to deliver exactly what we wanted from our wedding day. We visited several potential venues around the region, and each one would have been fantastic for our big day. Gillian was able to describe what each venue could offer us and our guests, and it was a tough choice whittling them down to just one. Gillian has a fantastic knowledge of the wedding process in Italy and was able to direct us about all the legal stuff that was needed for a UK national to marry and Irish citizen in Italy! And when the Foreign Office were dragging their heels with the paperwork, she showed some real ingenuity to get hold of what we needed! Gillian truly understands the important things that make a wedding unforgettable. We never felt under pressure to add on more services than our budget allowed; and her contacts in photography, floristry, catering and music really surpassed our expectations. Leading up to the wedding we were able to email Gillian endless stupid questions, which she answered with patience and great humour. And on the day itself, she was a calming presence which, more than anything just allowed us to get on with enjoying ourselves. Gillian is clearly extremely busy and popular during the wedding season. But the highest compliment we can pay her, is that every encounter we had with her, from our very first meeting a year before our wedding, she was 100% focussed on what we as a couple wanted and needed. She is clearly amazingly organised, but deals with her couples with such humour and fun, that it makes the whole planning process so enjoyable rather than stressful. We would definitely recommend getting married abroad. We would definitely recommend getting married in Tuscany; and if you decide that that is what you want, then you simply must use Gillian and Weddings in Tuscany.
